Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce Leaning Leftward, Hosting DEI Summit in May

The Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce (GCC) will continue its flirtation with the political left by hosting a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) summit next month.

“Exposure to diversity alters the way individuals think by promoting creativity and innovation, as well as decision-making and problem-solving skills,” says an explainer for one of the panels at the session. “You will learn what these experts, educators, and executives are doing to develop a more inclusive mindset.”

Another panel will teach employers how to implement DEI policies within their organizations.

“DEI initiatives in the workplace not only creates the opportunity to eliminate prejudice, but it also promotes higher productivity, employee retention and boost overall morale,” according to the promotional page for the summit.

The lead presenting partner for the event is Georgia Power.

Listed as a corporate partner for the event is the notoriously “woke” Coca-Cola Company.

In June of 2020, Coca-Cola’s CEO James Quincey pledged the company’s support for the Black Lives Matter movement, and promised resources to help that movement.

“George Floyd. Killed. A senseless tragedy for him and his family. Ahmaud Arbery. Breonna Taylor. Philando Castile. Sandra Bland. Freddie Gray. Michael Brown. Eric Garner. Tamir Rice. Trayvon Martin. All killed. All Black Americans, predominantly male Black Americans. All of whom should be alive today,” he said at the time.

“I, like you, am outraged, sad, frustrated, angry. Companies like ours must speak up as allies to the Black Lives Matter movement. We stand with those seeking justice and equality,” he continued. “Reality is that there is still a wound in the fabric of America that is not just not healed – but is being reopened. Racism. It begets violence, it begets death.”

Coincidentally, an Atlanta nonprofit called Concerned Communities for America (CCA), run by black men, Wednesday delivered a petition to Coca-Cola asking them to denounce their support for the corporate Black Lives Matter organization, which they say supports anarchy and hatred for police.

The GCC appears to be moving leftward.

Earlier this week, The Georgia Star News reported that Chairman and CEO of the group Nick Masino had lunch with radical far-left Gwinnett County School Board (GCSB) Chairwoman Dr. Tarece Johnson, after Johnson complained that part of a GCC presentation came across as racist.

Masino insists that his group is not taking orders from the radical leftists at the GCSB.

He did not return a comment request for this story.
